A decade after DAPL, former tribal chairman plants seeds of change on Standing Rock

Story by Erik Deatherage, a reporter with Prairie Public Broadcasting

David Archambault II, a former Chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and current CEO of Wozu, Inc., was recently featured in an interview with Erik Deatherage, a reporter with Prairie Public Broadcasting, a listener and viewer supported media organization that reaches households in North Dakota, Northwest Minnesota, as well as parts of South Dakota, Montana, and Manitoba Canada.

Dave hosts Eric on a tour of the Wozu campus and it’s buffalo pastures as they leisurely discuss current and ongoing indigenous issues which are as complex as they are simple.

Dave shares his thoughts, ideas, opinions and hopes for the future, sharing with us the goals that he and many others are working towards accomplishing.

The Lakota word Wozu means “to plant and grow; to care for” and is the name chosen for this 501(c)3 non profit organization, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Cannon Ball, ND, on the Standing Rock Reservation.

Wozu Inc., is engaged in a myriad of Cultural, Social, and Land regeneration programs honoring their ancestors and educating future generations. Wozu is working on regenerating the land, the buffalo, as well as the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation community and beyond.

This summer, TC Alliance Foundation delivered 24 Tons of fossilized kelp mineral amendments to Wozu in support of its buffalo pastures and is collaborating with the Wozu team, offering support and assistance in the regenerative programs Wozu creates and develops.
